해양경찰공무원의 외상 후 스트레스 장애가 알코올 사용 장애에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

본 연구는 해양경찰공무원의 외상 후 스트레스 장애 및 알코올 사용 장애의 수준을 파악하고, 이들 간의 관계를 규명해 보고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 해양경찰복지 실태조사 및 중장기 기본계획 수립 연구(2013)에서 수집된 자료 중 외상 후 진단 척도를 활용하여 측정한 외상 후 스트레스 장애, 알코올 사용 장애 진단 검사(한글판)를 활용하여 측정한 알코올 사용 장애 그리고 인구통계학적 특성을 측정하기 위한 설문문항을 사용하였으며, 총 2,652 케이스를 분석대상으로 하였다. 실증적 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외상 후 스트레스 장애의 평균은 5.09±7.50으로 나타났으며, 조사 대상자의 18.2%가 외상 후 스트레스 장애 증상을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 알코올 사용 장애의 평균은 8.86±6.24로 나타났으며, 조사 대상자의 41.2%가 알코올 사용 장애 문제를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 외상 후 스트레스 장애는 알코올 사용 장애에 정적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 해양경찰공무원의 알코올 사용 장애 문제를 예방하거나 대응해 나가기 위해서는 예방 프로그램의 개발 및 시행, 초기 대응을 위한 지역사회의 네트워크 구축 등이 요구된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and alcohol use disorders including the levels of PTSD and alcohol use disorders among maritime police in Korea. For this purpose, the data required for 'A Study on the Actual Condition and the Long-term Master Plan of the Maritime Police Welfare (2013)' is utilized. Questionnaires measuring PTSD (Posttraumatic Diagnostic Scale), alcohol use disorders (Alchol Use Disorders Identification Test-Korea) and socio-demographic Characteristics are used. A total of 2,652 cases is analyzed. The results of empirical analysis are as follows;Firstly, the mean of PTSD is 5.09(±7.50), and 18.2% of the respondents are having PTSD. Secondly, the mean of alcohol use disorders is 8.86(±6.24), and 41.2% of the respondents are having alcohol use disorders. Thirdly, PTSD(+) significantly influences on alcohol use disorders. Based on the results, it is important to develop and carry out a PTSD prevention program and to build networks of community-based agencies for the initial response, in order to prevent and deal with alcohol use disorders.
