해양경찰공무원은 해상에서 근무하는 업무의 특성상 다양한 위험과 스트레스에노출된다. 이러한 위험과 스트레스로 인하여 발생하는 부정적인 요소 중 하나로알코올 사용장애가 지목되고 있다. 알코올 사용장애는 우울, 자살의 선행변수로이를 해결하기 위한 다양한 연구들이 시행되고 있으나 해양경찰공무원을 대상으로 한 연구는 미진한 상태이다. 이에 이 연구는 해양경찰공무원의 알코올 사용장애 실태와 알코올 사용장애에 부적인 영향을 미치는 위해요인 및 보호요인을 경험적으로 검증하여 알코올 사용장애 문제 해결을 위한 정책적 기초자료 수집을목적으로 시행되었다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 「2018 해양경찰 복지 실태조사 및 중장기 복지전략 수립 연구」에서 수집한 자료를 활용하여 해양경찰공무원의 알코올 장애실태와 알코올 사용장애의 위해요인 및 보호요인의 영향을 검증하였다. 연구결과, 위험요인인 직무위험성의 경우 알코올 사용장애에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 회복탄력성의 일부가 알코올 사용장애에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 회복탄력성이 해양경찰공무원의 알코올 사용장애를 예방하는 데 중요한 요소임을 시사하는 것이다.
Abstract
Coast guards are exposed to various risks and stresses due to the nature of their work at sea. Alcohol use disorder has been pointed out as one of the negative outcomes caused by such stress. Alcohol use disorder is a predictor of depression and suicide. Various studies have been conducted to solve the alcohol use disorder problem, but studies on coast guards are scarce. Therefore, this study aims to collect basic policy data to solve the alcohol use disorder problem among coast guards by empirically identifying the actual condition of alcohol use disorder and the risk factors, as well as protective factors, that negatively affect alcohol use disorder of marine police officers. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the effects of risk and protective factors on alcohol use disorders and alcohol use disorders of coast guards were identified using the “2018 Coast Guard Welfare Survey and Mid- to Long-Term Welfare Strategy Establishment Study”. The results show that occupational risk, one of risk factors, did not affect alcohol use disorder. On the other hand, it was found that some sub-variables of the resilience had negative effects on alcohol use disorder. These results suggest that resilience is an important factor in preventing alcohol use disorders of coast guards.
