가정폭력 노출경험과 학교폭력 가해행동의 관계 : 공격성의 매개효과 검증

초록

이 연구의 목적은 가정폭력 노출경험이 학교폭력 가해행동에 미치는 영향을 공격성을 매개로 하여 검증하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 독립변수를 부모간의 폭력 목격경험인 간접노출경험과 부모로부터 학대받은 경험인 직접노출경험으로 구분하여 소년원생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 가정폭력 직접노출경험은 공격성에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 이러한 공격성은 다시 학교폭력 가해행동에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 간접노출경험은 공격성에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 가정폭력 직접 노출경험은 학교폭력 가해행동에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나 간접노출경험은 정(+)적인 영향을 미치고 있으나 통계적으로 유의하지 않는 것으로 조사되었다. 공격성의 매개효과 검증에서 가정폭력 직접노출경험과 학교폭력 가해행동의 관계에서는 공격성이 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났으나, 부모간의 폭력 목격경험인 가정폭력 간접노출경험에서는 매개역할을 하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 가정폭력은 학교폭력과 별개의 것이 아닌 학교폭력을 유발하는 요인일 가능성이 높음을 시사하고 있다. 따라서 가정폭력 노출경험이 있는 청소년들의 사회적 기능을 향상시키고, 학교폭력과 같은 문제를 감소시키기 위한 다각적인 방안이 필요하다. 특히, 학대를 경험한 청소년일수록 그 피해는 보여 지는 것 이상으로 심각할 수 있으므로 가정폭력을 경험한 자녀와 부모에 대해 국가적 차원의 집중적인 치료프로그램을 의무화할 필요성이 있다. 또한 가해청소년에 대한 단순한 체벌보다는 가해청소년 개개인에 대한 가정환경과 공격적인 내적 성향과 같은 학교폭력을 유발하는 근본적인 요인이 무엇인지를 파악하고 이를 해결하기 위한 다양한 연구가 활발하게 진행되어야 할 것이다.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to test the effect of experience in exposure to domestic violence on school violence behavior through the medium of aggressiveness. For this purpose, juvenile reformatory inmates were surveyed using a questionnaire that asked the subjects’ experience in indirect exposure to violence, which was experience in witnessing violence between the parents, and direct exposure to violence, which was experience in being abused by the parents. According to the results of this study, experience in direct exposure to domestic violence was found to have a positive effect on aggressiveness, which, in turn, had a positive effect on school violence behavior. In contrast, experience in indirect exposure did not appear to affect aggressiveness. In addition, experience in direct exposure to domestic violence was found to have a positive effect on school violence behavior, but experience in indirect exposure had a positive effect but not statistically significant. When the mediating effect of aggressiveness was tested, aggressiveness was found to play a mediating role between experience in direct exposure to domestic violence and school violence behavior, but not between experience in witnessing violence between the parents, which was experience in indirect exposure to domestic, and school violence behavior. These findings suggest that domestic violence is not separated from school violence but is highly likely to be factor inducing school violence. For adolescents with experience in exposure to domestic violence, accordingly, it is necessary to develop various strategies to enhance their social functions and ease relevant problems. Particularly because adolescents who have experienced abuse may have a wound that may be more serious that it appears, it is required to apply government‐sponsored intensive therapeutic programs to children who have experienced domestic violence and their parents. For adolescent violence offenders, what is more, instead of simple corporal punishment, research should be made actively from diverse perspectives to identify fundamental factors inducing school violence such as individual adolescent violence offenders’ home environment and aggressive inner tendency and to deal with such factors.
