초록

E-intermediaries can create new opportunities for SMEs to participate in the global market. The effectiveness of e-commerce may allow market intermediaries to manage the complexity and integrate the activities among businesses around the world. Pohang international container port opened in August 2009 is not a major national port but a regional port. The port thus needs unique strategies to compete major ports, attract investments, and have enough cargo volumes. This study suggests e-intermediary use as an alternative for the port where is close to many SMEs in Daegu-Gyeongbuk region, Korea. Also, this study aims to provide a theoretically comprehensive understanding of e-intermediaries in SMEs' export marketing. Based on the theoretical backgrounds, e-intermediaries may be regarded as an effective exporting strategy for SMEs to penetrate into the global market. Also, Pohang international container port can develop its hinterland and guarantee enough cargo volumes by using e-intermediaries.
