전국 경찰서 단위의 범죄율이 체감안전도에 미치는 영향 :공간회귀분석을 이용하여

초록

현대에 들어 범죄 및 안전에 대한 시민들의 요구와 관심이 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 이에 대한 경찰의 노력으로 매년 범죄율은 감소 추세를 보이고 있다. 다만, 시민들의 안전에 대한 주관적인 인식인 체감안전도의 증가도 동시에 수반될 때 비로소 공공의 안녕 및 질서 유지라는 경찰의 역할이 완성된다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 경찰서 수준의 체감안전도를 2014년부터 2018년까지 그 변화 추이를 알아보고 종합적인 체감안전도에 대한 영향요인으로 범죄관련 요인, 경찰관련 요인, 그리고 취약성 관련 요인을 중심으로 분석하되 경찰서 간의 지역적 인접성을 고려하여 공간 회귀분석으로 그 관계를 검증하였다. 분석 결과 체감안전도는 꾸준히 증가하는 추세를 보였는데 이는 범죄율의 전반적인 감소 추세와 비교하였을 때 서로 관련이 있음을 알 수 있다. 공간회귀분석 결과에서는 범죄율과 경찰관 수가 가설과 일치하는 결과를 보였으나 취약성 요인은 그렇지 않았다. 위 결과를 바탕으로 정책적 제언 및 후속연구의 제안과 본 연구의 한계를 논하였다.

Abstract

Recently, citizen's demands and interests in crime and safety continue to increase. It can be seen that the role of the police is completed when the actual crime rate is reduced, as well as the establishment of public well-being and order. This study examined the trend of changes in the level of perception of public safety at the police station level from 2014 to 2018 and the factors of effecting on perception of public safety using spatial regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, the perception of public safety showed a steadily increasing trend, which is related to the overall decline in the crime rate. The results also indicate that crime-related factors, police-related factors, and vulnerability-related factors are all related to perception of public safety. Based on the above results, policy suggestions and limitations of this study were discussed.
