본 연구는 자본집약적인 물류산업에 컨테이너 리스회사를 추가함으로써 산업 및 국가경쟁력을 증진시킬 수 있는 효과적인 방법을 규명하고, 그 효과를 극대화할 수 있는 리스회사의 효율적인 구조를 밝혀내는 데 연구 목적이 있다. 대한민국은 GDP 대비 수출입비율이 매우 높고 대외의존도가 높은 경제구조를 가지고 있어 물류산업은 국내 경제에 매우 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 따라서 물류산업에서 핵심적인 역할을 수행하는 해운산업의 중요성과 특성 및 문제점을 파악하여 해운업을 중심으로 국내 물류산업을 파악한 후, 컨테이너 리스시장의 현황 및 특성을 파악하고, 리스금융 평가 프로세스와 리스사 설립의 기능과 기대효과를 확인할 것이다. 위 정보와 주요 글로벌 리스사에 대한 분석을 토대로 한국형 컨테이너 리스사 설립방안을 제시하고자 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify an effective and efficient way of enhancing South Korea’s industrial and national competitiveness by adding a container leasing company. The logistics industry is known to be capital intensive and a well structured container leasing company can enhance efficiency of such capital intensive industry. In this study, we identify the domestic logistics of the shipping industry by investigating the importance of shipping industry, we identify characteristics and problems of the industry. Then the status and characteristics of the container leasing market are analyzed and its implication are derived. The role of the newly established leasing company is investigated and its expected effects and implications to the shipping industry are analyzed. Based on the above information and analysis of major global leasing companies, we would like to present a plan to establish a Korean container leasing company.
