Abstract

Targeting trauma event experience memory is related to not equating trauma with individual identity. Although trauma is inseparable from an individual's body, it cannot be a driving force for identity formation. Trauma is a marker for revealing excess of wounds, and trauma caused by others and the wounds always threaten the identity of the subject. For this reason, trauma is an object of fear to be denied or avoided, but also an object to be overcome. From this point of view, so far, this article has emphasized that the important thing in the narrativeization of trauma experience memory is not to reproduce the past experiences as they are. Memory is narrated according to the constructed representation of memory and forgetting about past states, and such narrative is involved in interpretation and context of memories that cannot be reproduced as they are. For this reason, the narrative strategy of memory and forgetfulness is involved in the narrativeization of trauma event experience memory, and through such intervention, the narrative can have meaning for the present life and the future life. Based on this perspective, this article focuses on the system and meaning of memory and forgetting, trauma narrative through narrative strategies of memory and forgetting, and solidarity and healing of pain through understanding of trauma narrative.
