『갑진일록』 도망시(悼亡詩)에 나타난 슬픔의 형상화 연구

본고는 18세기 사대부 임재당(1686-1726)의 문집인 『갑진일록』을 개관하고, 문집에 실린 도망시의 분석을 바탕으로 하였다. 도망시는 죽은 아내를 추모한 시로, 임재당은 모두 104편의 도망시를 남기고 있다. 이는 당대 다른 문인들의 도망시보다도 월등하게 많은 수치이고, 형식과 특징적인 면에서도 이례적인 양상을 보여주고 있다. 연구 방법은 먼저 『갑진일록』에 보이는 도망시들의 시어를 분석하고, 작품의 형식적인 특징을 살피는데 주력하였다. 그리고 화자가 사별한 아내를 향한 슬픔을 ‘한(恨)의 정서’, ‘집의 의미 변용’, ‘추억의 재구(再構)’ 등을 통해서 형상화하였다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구를 바탕으로 조선시대 도망시의 단면을 확인할 수 있었고, 향후 당대 도망시들과의 상이성(相異性)을 살필 수 있는 계기가 되었다.
Abstract
This study roughly examined the 『Gapjinilok(甲辰日錄)』, a collection of poems by the 18th-century scholar Im Jae-dang (1686-1726), and based on the analysis of Poems Mourning Wife included in the collection. Poems Mourning Wife is a poem commemorating a deceased wife, and Im Jae-dang left behind a total of 104 Poems Mourning Wife. This is a significantly larger number than the Poems Mourning Wife of other writers at the time, and it also shows unusual aspects in terms of form and characteristics. The research method focused on first analyzing the poetic language of Poems Mourning Wife in 『Gapjinilok』 and examining the formal characteristics of the works. In addition, it was confirmed that the speaker visualized his sorrow for his deceased wife through ‘emotion of resentment’, ‘transformation of the meaning of home’, and ‘reconstruction of memories’. Based on this study, it was possible to confirm a cross-section of Poems Mourning Wife from the Joseon Dynasty, and it became an opportunity to examine the different characteristics of Poems Mourning Wife from that era in the future.
