가족치료의 태동과 발전과정에서 본 인식론의 변화에 관한 연구

본 연구는 가족치료의 발전은 인식론의 변화가 함께 하였음을 기본적으로 가정하였다. 우선 본 연구는 인식론의 철학적, 과학적 의미를 논의하였고 가족치료 분야에서 인식론의 이슈가 어떤 의미를 갖는가를 논의하였다. 아울러 가족치료가 태동하게 된 맥락에는 인식론의 전환 혹은 과학적 접근방법의 전환이 있었음을 전제하면서 기계론적 세계관과 유기체론적 세계관의 비교를 통하여, 가족치료가 개인치료와는 다른 인식론적 기초 위에 태동하였음을 설명하였다. 또 이른바 일차 (모더니즘적) 가족치료와 이차 (포스트 모던) 가족치료의 인식론적 전제를 설명하였고, 이를 위하여 체계론적 관점과 사이버네틱 인식론을 비교하여 설명하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 가족치료의 실제에 있어서 실용적 접근과 심미적 접근이 치료자의 인식론과 연관됨에 관하여 논의하였다. * 주제어: 인식론, 사이버네틱스, 유기체론적 세계관, 포스트모더니즘, 울트라모더니즘

Abstract

This paper focuses on several epistemological issues in the field of family therapy. It begins with an explanation of the meaning of epistemology in the realm of philosophy and science and discusses its meaning in family therapy. It then compares individual and family therapy in terms of mechanistic and organismic worldviews. Comparing general system theory and cybernetic epistemology, the paper examines the epistemological premises underlying systemic family therapy in the modern era. Constructivism, social constructionism, and second-order cybernetics are used to discuss second-order family therapy, including the related issues of aesthetics and pragmatics, in the postmodern era. Finally, the meaning and implications of so-called 　ultramodern　 family therapy are discussed. KEY WORDS: Epistemology, Cybernetics, Organismic World View, Postmodernism, Ultramodernism
