This study examined the effects of middle-aged women's interpersonal relationships and self-esteem on appearance management behavior. As the number of middle-aged women with jobs increases, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of social status improvement through various activities and interpersonal relationships and self-esteem for continuous growth on appearance management behavior. To carry out the purpose of this study, a preliminary survey and a verified main survey were conducted targeting middle-aged women in their 40s and 50s residing in Chungcheong-do and the metropolitan area. For about 3 weeks from April 20 to May 10, 2022. The remaining 260 were used for empirical analysis and validity and reliability verification of measurement tools. For the factor extraction method, principal component analysis was used to extract only factors with values greater than the designated eigenvalue, and Varimax rotation was performed to simplify factor loading for factor rotation. In addition, reliability was measured using Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient to measure the reliability of the accuracy and precision of the measurement tool. In general, if the value of the alpha coefficient is 0.68 or more, it can be said to be reliable. Through the above research results, it was found that the more active the interpersonal relationship, the greater the influence on the appearance management behavior, and the higher the self-esteem, the less the influence on the appearance management behavior.
