지각된 진로장벽과 우연대처기술이 대학생의 진로적응성에 미치는 영향

초록

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 대학생이 지각하는 진로장벽, 우연대처기술 및 진로적응성의 성차를 살펴보고, 진로장벽과 우연대처기술이 진로적응성에 미치는 영향을 밝히는 것이었다. 연구방법: 본 연구에는 B시에 소재한 2개 대학의 남녀대학생 462명(남:268, 여: 194)이 참여하였으며, 이들을 대상으로 진로장벽, 우연대처기술, 진로적응성을 측정하는 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료에 대하여 t-검증과 표준중다회귀분석을 이용한 통계분석이 실시되었다. 연구결과: 첫째, 진로장벽, 우연대처기술, 진로적응성에는 성차가 있었다. 여자대학생은 진로장벽을 더 많이 지각하고 남자대학생은 우연대처기술과 진로적응성이 높았다. 둘째, 지각된 진로장벽과 우연대처기술이 진로적응성에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과, 남학생과 여학생 모두 진로장벽보다 우연대처기술이 진로적응성에 더 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 지각된 진로장벽의 하위요인과 우연대처기술의 하위요인이 진로적응성에 미치는 영향은 남녀대학생 간에 다소 차이가 있었다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구는 진로장벽과 우연대처기술 및 진로적응성의 관계를 살펴보고, 기존 진로상담에서 간과되었던 우연대처기술이 진로적응성에 미치는 영향이 진로장벽보다 더 크다는 것을 밝혀냈다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다. 이러한 결과는 진로전환기의 대학생의 진로적응성에 대한 이해와 진로상담에의 적용 및 프로그램 개발에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find the influence of perceived career barriers and happenstance coping skills on career adaptability of college students. Method: The participants of this study were 462(male: 268, female: 194）students sampled from 2 universities in B city. They completed a set of questionnaires consisting of Korean Career Indecision Inventory, Planned Happenstance Career Inventory, and Career Adaptability Scale. The collected data were analyzed by t-test and standard multiple regression analysis. Results: First, gender differences were found in perceived career barriers, happenstance coping skills and career adaptability. Second, both perceived career barriers and happenstance coping skills influenced career adaptability, however happenstance coping skills were more important than perceived career barriers. Third, differences were found between male and female students in the influence of subscales of perceived career barriers and happenstance coping skills on career adaptability. Conclusion: Counselors and educators need to consider including the way to lower career barriers and to heighten happenstance coping skills in the counseling and educational programs designed to improve career adaptability of college students.
