초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 발달장애학생의 자기결정력에 대한 특수교사의 교수실행도와 인식을 탐색하고 동시에 발달장애학생의 자기결정력 신장을 위하여 우선적으로 지원되어야 할 요소를 살피는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구방법: 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 특수교육기관에 재직 중이며 발달장애학생을 담당하고 있는 교사 157명을 대상으로 자기결정력 교수실행도와 인식에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 연구 문제에 따라 분석하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 발달장애학생의 자기결정력에 대한 특수교사의 교수실행도와 중요도는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 발달장애학생의 자기결정력에 대한 교수실행도와 중요도에 대한 인식은 특수교사의 성별과 경력, 발달장애학생의 연령과 장애유형에 따라 유의미한 차이가 확인되었다. 둘째, 발달장애학생에게 우선적으로 지원되어야 할 자기결정력의 요소로 문제해결, 자기옹호, 자기인식 및 자신에 대한 지식 영역 등 총 3개의 하위 영역과 11개의 세부항목이 도출되었다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 발달장애학생의 자기결정력 신장을 위한 교수-학습 전략 및 프로그램 구안에 대한 전략을 제시하였다.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate of special education teachers’ teaching execution and perception on self-determination of students with developmental disabilities, at the same time, to explore the needs of teachers for supporting self-determination of students with developmental disabilities. Method: To these ends, 157 special education teachers who were in charge of students with developmental disabilities were asked to complete questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed by using a paired t-test, Borich’s need, and IPA matrix analysis method. Results: First, there was a significant difference between the level of teaching execution and importance of self-determination of students with developmental disabilities. As well, there were significant differences according to sociodemographic variables such as teachers’ gender, period of teaching experience, students’ age, and type of disabilities. Second, 3 domains and 11 items to be supported first were identified. Conclusion: Based on these results, strategies to support and enhance self-determination of students with developmental disabilities were suggested.
