연구는 학령전기 아동의 어머니가 인지하는 아동의 문제행동 관련요인을 확인하기 위해 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과에의하면 아동의 특성으로는 맏이인 경우, 그리고 어머니의 특성으로는 어머니의 부정적인 양육태도, 낮은 경제수준, 그리고전업 주부인 어머니의 경우에 어머니들이 학령전기 아동의 문제행동이 유의하게 높다고 보고하였다. 그러나 본 연구에 포함된 전체 변수가 학령전기 아동의 문제행동을 34.5% 정도만 설명하고 있어 부족한 점이 있다. 아동의 문제행동을 설명하는 다른 요인들로 아동의 기질, 인지능력, 사회적 능력(또래관계), 부모의 결혼만족도, 부모의 훈육방식 등이 선행문헌에서 언급되고 있다. 이러한 부분들을 함께 고려하여 후속연구가 진행된다면 아동의 문제행동의 설명력이 높아질 것으로 생각된다. 또한 본 연구는 학령전기 아동의 문제행동에 있어서 그동안 많이 언급이 되었던 어머니 양육태도와 경제상태 외에 형제순위를 부각시킨 점이 의의가 있다고 하겠다. 형제 중 맏이가 문제행동이 많이 발생하며, 이는 부모의 관심분산, 그리고 동생의 존재로 인해 맏이에게 아동으로서의 모습보다 성숙한 많은것을 기대하고, 첫째의 행동을 바라보는 시각과 관련된다고 생각된다. 이에 맏이를 아동 그대로의 모습으로 보며 자존감을 높여주도록 어머니를 대상으로 하는 교육이나 상담프로그램의개발이 필요하다고 하겠다
Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors associated with the problem behaviors perceived by mothers of pre-school age children. Methods: The participants were 211 mothers living in 3 cities in Korea. The data were collected from May to June 2009 using a self-reported questionnaire including demographic data, child rearing-attitude, and K-CBCL 1.5-5. The data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 12.0 version. Results: Factors related to the mothersperception on problem behaviors of their preschool child were; first born child, economic status, rearing attitude and occupational status of mother. Conclusion: According to the result of this study, mothers reporting lower economic status perceived their children with more behavioral problems. Also, compared to the second or only child, the first born children were perceived to have more problems. Further study is needed to understand the mother and child interaction among these groups to implement appropriate parent education and counseling.
