Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the experience of schizophrenic's employment retention. Methods: The study design is a qualitative research with eight schizophrenic participants. The participants had over six months' employment experience and the data of their experience were collected through in-depth interview between January and February 2013. The collected data was analyzed with Colaizzi's Phenomenological Research Methodology (1978). Results: The four different categories were drawn from 12 themes: (1) Proceeding their career through the job fits their abilities (2) Accepting their condition and advance (3) Sharing the experience with the people supporting them (4) Overcoming their condition and live as a regular person Conclusion: To schizophrenic participants, maintaining employment means maintaining their life as social members not patients with mental disorder. Therefore, rehabilitation facilities for psychiatric patients and local community must take an important role that support and aid them with a phased rehabilitation program and a employment program.
