Construction of Evaluation System of Chinese Classics translation and Appraisal model

To achieve the development of the translation of Chinese classics in quantity and quality, the construction of objective and fair evaluation system and appropriate appraisal model is needed. Recently, the estimation of the translated book is being promoted and the interest on the evaluation of the translated Chinese classics is more increased. This paper examines how the evaluation of the translated Chinese classics have been progressed and tries to find an alternative plan. The main object of the examination is Institute for the translation of the Korean classics(ITKC). First of all, I presented the necessity of building the academic department of Korean translation by accepting the previous achievements in the subject of translation actively. Furthermore, I proposed that to produce good translated books, the institute in charge should prepare the uniform mechanism for the evaluation and its procedure. In this respect, I looked into the appraisal system of Korea Research Foundation and suggested a construction of the committee for the evaluation of Korean translation. Next, I argued about the matter of developing the appraisal model. At last, I presented a new appraisal model, after examining the appraisal models in each institute and distributing the indicators of evaluation based on the condition of translation in Korean.
