葛庵 李玄逸의 儒學的 삶과 經世論

Abstract

Galam(葛庵) Yi Hyunil(李玄逸:1627-1704) lived the confucian life for his lifetime. The core concept of confucian represented in 『Hong-bum-gu-ju』 is self-cultivation(修己) and governing-others(治人). Therefore, whenever he met the Royal(肅宗), he always insisted the self-cultivation of him(肅宗). And he also emphasised the need of the lieges to advice him. Galam(葛庵) asserted that we must recommend the right man in virtuous conduct and executive ability. He did not submit to the Ch’ing(淸) dynasty to the end. And Galam(葛庵) also asserted that we should cultivate the general for defending the edges of the country, and product the chariot for fighting further. His last attempt was enforcing “a promise among the member of the community(鄕約)”. He wanted to get up the customs by doing it. But the stage was too early to achieve his ideal of confucian government.
