초록

The process of Hinduisation, marked by the absorption of indigenous Adivasi communities into Hinduism, is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon. Based on empirical data and grounded in literature, this article explores the intricacies of Hinduisation among the Scheduled Tribes of the Jharkhand region. The study employs an interdisciplinary approach to situate Adivasis in their historical context, examining the transformative impact of political interventions on their identity. Focusing primarily on Jharkhand, this research aims to delineate the multifarious implications of Hinduisation, where Adivasis simultaneously embrace certain Hindu practices while striving to maintain a distinct Adivasi identity, divorced from not only Hinduism but also Christianity and the like.
