본 연구는 한국의 지역간 경제적 상호연계 정도가 어떻게 변화했고, 그 요인은 무엇이었는지를 분석하였다. 기존 관련 연구들이 구조분해분석이나 변이할당분석을 통해 지역간 연계를 분석하였던 것과 달리 본 연구는 Dietzenbacher and Lahr(2017) 방법론을 이용하여 두 분석을 연계하여 분석하였다. 2010년과 2015년 한국의 지역산업연관표를 이용한 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 두 기간 한국의 부가가치 창출과정에서 수도권과 충청권의 영향력이 확대되었는데 특히 수도권의 영향력이 더 많이 확대되었다. 반면 경상권과 전라권의 영향력은 축소되었는데 특히 경상권의 영향력이 더 많이 축소되었다. 둘째, 서울과 경기지역의 부가가치 측면에서의 영향력 확대는 국가 전체적인 최종수요규모 확대, 전국적인 산업별 수요구조 변화, 각 지역의 전국적인 부가가치유발 영향력 변화에 크게 기인했던 것으로 분석되었다. 셋째, 각 지역 최종수요 변화에 따라 특정 지역에 귀속되는 창출부가가치 증가를 요인별로 분석한 결과, 각 지역 창출부가가치 증가에 영향을 미치는 요인들은 지역별로 각기 달랐으나, 거의 모든 지역의 창출부가가치 증가 과정에 있어 해당 지역의 최종수요증가 요인뿐만 아니라 여타지역에 있어 국가 전체적인 최종수요규모 확대 요인이 부가가치 증가에 긍정적으로 작용했다. 넷째 두 기간 창출부가가치 증가액이 가장 많았던 경기의 경우 그 증가의 대부분은 자체 최종수요 증가에 의한 것이었고, 그 다음으로 서울의 최종수요 증가에 기인했다. 반면 두 기간 창출부가가치가 오히려 감소했던 울산의 경우 여타 지역의 최종수요변화에 의한 파급효과가 전체적으로 울산지역의 부가가치 창출 과정에 부정적으로 작용한 것으로 분석되었다. 다섯째, 두 기간 강원, 충남, 충북, 제주지역의 부가가치 창출 증가 과정에서 서울과 경기지역의 최종수요증가가 큰 역할을 하였는데 그 주요 요인은 국가 전체적인 최종수요규모 확대, 각 지역의 부가가치 창출 중 자기지역 귀속 비중 변화였던 것으로 분석되었다. 반면 두 기간 부산, 울산, 경남, 경북지역의 부가가치 증가에 있어서 서울과 경기지역의 최종수요 변화가 미치는 긍정적 효과는 여타 지역에 비해 극히 낮았던 것으로 분석되었다.
Abstract
This study analyzes how the degree of economic interconnectedness between regions in Korea has changed and what the factors are. Unlike previous studies that analyze inter-regional linkages through either structural decomposition analysis(SDA) or shift-share analysis(SSA), this study uses the Dietzenbacher and Lahr (2017) methodology to combine the two analyses. The results of the analysis using the regional input-output table for Korea in 2010 and 2015 are as follows. First, the influence of the Seoul Metropolitan Area and the Chungcheong regions in Korea's value-added creation process expanded in the period, especially the Seoul Metropolitan Area. On the other hand, the influence of the Gyeongsangbuk-do and Jeolla-do regions shrank, especially the Gyeongsangbuk-do region. Second, the expansion of the influence of the Seoul and Gyeonggi province in value added creation was largely due to the expansion of the overall national final demand, changes in the demand structure by industry across the country, and changes in the influence of each region in national value added creation. Third, I analyzed the increase of gross value added creation in a particular region generated by the change in final demand in each region by factors, and found that the factors affecting the increase in gross value added in each region differed by region, but in the process of increasing gross value added in almost all regions, not only the factor of increasing final demand in the region, but also the factor of expanding the scale of national final demand in other regions played a positive role in increasing gross value added. Fourth, in the case of the provinces with the highest gross value added growth in the period, most of the increase was due to the growth in their own final demand, followed by the growth in Seoul's final demand. On the other hand, in the case of Ulsan, which experienced a decline in value added during the period, the spillover effect of changes in final demand in other regions had a negative impact on the overall value added creation process in Ulsan. Fifth, the growth of final demand in Seoul and Gyeonggi province played a major role in the growth of value added in Gangwon, Chungnam, Chungbuk, and Jeju province during the period, and the main factors were the expansion of the overall scale of final demand in the country and the change in the share of value added belonging to each own region in the gross value-added created by the region. On the other hand, the positive effect of changes in final demand in Seoul and Gyeonggi province on the growth of value added in Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Gyeongbuk province during the period was extremely low compared to other regions.
