정서적 외상 경험이 있는 어머니의 자녀양육에 대한 현상학적 연구: 정서경험을 중심으로

본 연구는 아동기 정서적 외상 경험이 있는 어머니를 대상으로 현재 자녀양육 과정에서 겪고 있는 정서적 경험에 대해 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 사용하여 첫째 자녀가 미취학 아동인 어머니 9명을 대상으로 심층면접을 실시하고 자료를 분석하였다. 분석결과 6개의 구성요소, 10개의 하위구성요소가 도출되었다. 연구결과는 ‘부모와 온전히 나누지 못한 감정들’, ‘여전히 이해받지 못한 감정들을 껴안은 채 살아감’, ‘어머니로서 혼란스러운 감정과 마주함’, ‘혼란을 피하고자 부정적 정서를 억압함’, ‘분출된 분노로 인해 고통을 느낌’, ‘긴밀한 대상과의 정서적 상호작용에 대한 갈망’으로 도출되었다. 본 연구를 통해 자녀양육에서 정서적 외상 경험이 있는 어머니가 정서표현의 어려움을 극복하려는 노력이 가지는 의미를 이해하고자 한다. 과거 부정적 정서경험에 대한 재해석을 통해 정서적 외상에서 회복과정으로 이어지는 학문적 자료의 기초가 될 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 연구결과를 토대로 모-자 관계의 안정된 정서적 상호작용을 돕고 대안적인 양육과정을 제시하는 데 의의가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to look at the emotional experiences that mothers with emotional trauma from childhood are having now while they raise their children. In-depth interviews with nine women whose first children were preschoolers were performed, and the data was processed, utilizing Giorgi's phenomenological research method. Six components and ten subcomponents were derived as a consequence of the investigation. “Emotions not fully shared with parents," “living with emotions still not understood," “facing confused emotions as a mother," “suppressing negative emotions to avoid confusion," “feeling pain due to emitted anger," and “lust for emotional interaction with close objects" were among the study's findings. The goal of this study is to better understand the meaning of mothers'efforts to overcome challenges in emotional expression when raising children who have experienced emotional trauma. Reinterpreting unfavorable emotional events from the past might be beneficial. Furthermore, based on the findings, it is important to support the mother-child relationship's solid emotional contact and to present an alternate parenting technique.
