Abstract
This study takes China's lifelong education system as its research object, selecting 1,790 core journal articles indexed by the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) from 2004 to 2024 as the research sample.Using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic model, it systematically reviews and deeply analyzes the research hotspots and thematic evolution trends in this field. Through text mining, five major research themes are identified: adult education, community education, rural education, open universities, and the learning society. The research finds that studies in this field exhibit a clear three-stage evolutionary path: the early stage (2004-2010) focused on the compensatory function of adult education and rural education, aiming to promote educational equity; the mid-term stage (2010-2016) shifted towards the promotion of community education and the institutional construction of open universities, focusing on educational model innovation; the recent stage (2016-2024) delves into the integration of the learning society with educational digitalization, emphasizing the construction of a lifelong learning system for all citizens. Thematic intensity analysis reveals that community education and the learning society have become the current research core, reflecting a shift in research focus from localized compensation towards systematic and intelligent directions. The analysis indicates that the evolution of research hotspots in China's lifelong education closely aligns with the orientation of national macro-education policies, demonstrating a clear trajectory from addressing the educational needs of specific groups towards building a universal, systematic, and intelligent lifelong learning system. This paper proposes countermeasures and suggestions from aspects such as strengthening top-level system design, promoting digital empowerment, balancing urban and rural education, deepening the integration of community education and governance, and constructing a scientific evaluation system, aiming to provide references for optimizing the theoretical research and practical development of China's lifelong education system.
