Abstract
Uroflowmetry is of great convenience to diagnose benign prostate hypertrophy comon in aged men. The urinary flowrecently proposed to measure hydraulic presure instead of weight and demonstrated to introduce significantly reducednoise. In this paper, we described the measured diagnostic parameters between the weight and pressure measuringtechniques in 10 normal men. The weight and pressure signals were simultaneously acquired during urination, convertedinto urine volumes, then diferentiated to obtain flow rate signals, which showed very similar waveforms. Diagnosticparameters evaluated by presure measuring technique were well correlated with the standard weight measuring technique(corelation coefficient >0.99). Therefore, the new uroflowmetry based on hydraulic pressure measurement can provideacurate diagnostic parameters, which would be clinicaly valid.
