본 연구는 노인환자에 대한 간호사 태도의 주관성을 유형화하고 유형별 특성과 차이점을 분석하기 위하여 시도되었다. 연구방법은 Q-방법론을 적용하였고 수집된 자료는 QUANL PC program에 의한 주 인자 분석법으로 처리 하였으며 노인환자에 대한 간호사의 태도는 3가지 유형으로 분류되었다. 제 1형은 ‘전통적 노인 공경형’으로 노인환자를 진정한 마음으로 보필하고 공경하는 것은 간호를 전공한 전문 지식인으로써 마땅히 갖추어야 할 소양이라고 생각하고 있는 사람들이다. 제 2 유형은 ‘X-세대 노인 추구형’으로 노인을 생산적이고 활동적인 사회활동을 통한 사교적 생활을 추구하는 사람으로 간주하고 경제적 독립은 필수적이라고 주장하는 사람들이다. 제 3유형은 ‘노인-반영 미래 설계 형’으로 기존의 부정적 요인들을 거울삼아 새로운 미래를 설계하고 이를 준비하는 건설적인 노인의 삶을 추구하는 사람들이다. 그러므로 노인환자를 위한 간호사의 태도 강화 및 간호 전략 수립을 위하여 적절한 교육프로그램의 지속과 개발이 필요하다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the types of nurses’ attitude toward the hospitalized elderly. Q-methodology which emphasizes subjectivity in the inside of human was used. 36 of Q-sample were selected after a pilot test and Q-sorting was done by 38 of P-sample. The data was analyzed by using QUANL program. Three types of nurses’ attitude were discovered. The first type was ‘Traditional elderly respect type’, which is based on confucianism and filial piety. The second type was ‘X-generation elderly pursuit type’, which is to prepare one’s old age socially, financially and physically. The third type was ‘Elderly-reflection future design type,’ which is to let elderly life be an example to their future. An appropriate education program for the elderly needs to be continued and newly developed in nursing field in order to not only reinforce nurses’ attitude but also set up nursing strategies for elderly patients.
