Abstract
This study aims to determine the perceived types of desirable jobs among nursing student. This exploratory study employs the Q-methodology. Convenience samples were derived from 40 nursing students. Forty Q statements were formulated, and data were analyzed using the PC-QUANL program. The study revealed four types of nursing students’ perceptions of optimal professions: self-development-oriented, relationship-oriented, social recognition-oriented, and stable working environment-oriented. The “self-development-oriented type,” encompassing 40% of participants, demonstrated a notable prevalence among fourth-year college students, with a substantial interest in pursuing clinical nursing. This results recommend that nurse educators actively encourage nursing students to align career decisions with their prioritized values, fostering a personalized approach, such as mentoring, to enhance career decision-making.
