연쇄살인사건수사에 있어서 공간적 프로파일링에 대한 연구-연쇄살인범 유영철, 정남규, 강호순사건을 중심으로

한국에서의 연쇄살인으로 인한 피해자수는 70년대 이후 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 그 동기는 돈과 성에 대한 분노라고 할 수 있다. 연쇄살인범은 기존의 수사방법으로는 검거하기가 어렵기 때문에 새로운 수사기법의 개발이 필요하다. 그 하나의 대안으로서 범행 장소에 대한 공간적 프로파일링에 의한 수사를 시도해 보고자 한다. 이 논문에서는 연쇄살인범 의의, 기존의 수사방법에 대한 분석, 문제점 검토, 대안 도출 순으로 알아보겠다. 연쇄살인범은 심리적 냉각기를 두고 계속해서 살인행위를 하는 사람을 말한다. 이러한 유형의 사람들은 타인의 고통이나 슬픔을 공감하지 못하고, 잘못을 반성할 줄 모르는 특성을 가지고 있다. 기존의 살인사건에 대한 수사방법은 피해품의 유무, 피해자와의 관련성, 범행 현장과의 관련성 등을 중심으로 수사하는 것이다. 그러나 이러한 수사방법은 사건분석시스템의 부재, 공조수사의 부재 등의 문제가 있다. 따라서 연쇄살인범을 효율적으로 수사하기 위해서는 공간적 프로파일링의 활용, 공조수사시스템의 구축, 유전자은행의 설치, CCTV의 증설, 광역수사대의 개편 등이 필요하다.
Abstract
The casualty in the South Korea due to serial murder has been continuously growing since '70s. The motive of the crime can be the anger about money and sexual desire. The way to arrest Serial killer in traditional way is very difficult, so the development of new investigation techniques has been needed. Therefore as an alternative to the crime scene investigation by the spatial profile is what I wanted to try in this paper. In this paper, I'll discuss the definition of serial killers, the analysis of existing methods for the investigation, the reviewal of the problems, and suggesting the alternatives. Serial killers based on cooling off period continues to kill. These types of people are not aware of other people's pain and sorrow, and do not regret their faults. Existing methods for investigation is centered on the victim's item, the relations of the victim, the crime-scene. However, these investigation methods have problems like the absence of the event analysis system and the cooperative investigation system. Therefore, in order to investigate the serial killers effectively, we need to take advantage of the spatial profile, construct the cooperative investigation system, install the gene bank, set up more CCTV, and reorganize wide-area investigation system.
