북한의 국가기념일을 통한 정권의 정당성 강화: 혁명전통 기념일을 중심으로

본 연구에서는 북한에서 사회통합의 중요한 기제로 ‘혁명전통’이 차지하는 중요성에 대해 인지하고, 그렇다면 지난 반세기 동안 북한의 ‘혁명전통’이 김일성과 김정일이 정치권력의 정당성을 획득해 나가는데 있어 어떻게 활용되고 있는가를 살펴보고자 하였다. 먼저 북한의 ‘혁명전통’의 내용은 정치시기별로 권력의 정당성 강화를 위해 환경에 적응하며 변화하고 있었다. 정치와 사회가 안정되어있을 때는 혁명전통 내용의 확장과 변화를 통한 정당성의 과시 방법으로, 반대로 정권교체와 경제난과 같은 위기감이 존재할 때는 전통이 유지되고 있음을 강조하는 전략으로 대응한다. 또한 이렇게 변화하고 있는 혁명전통의 내용은 관련 국가기념일 만들기에도 그대로 반영되어 나타나고 있었다. 결과적으로 전통의 복원과 재창조 과정을 통해 만들어진 혁명전통과 국가기념일 만들기는 그것이 만들어지는 당시 정치적인 상황과 사회적 변화를 반영하여 만들어지는 것으로 권력자들의 권력 정당성의 강화에 적극 활용되어지고 있다는 것을 의미한다.
Abstract
This study recognized that is of importance Revolution Tradition a matter of consequence of social integration. And It analyses that North Korea Revolution Tradition utilized Legitimacy strengthening of Kim-il-sung and Kim-jung-il’s political power during for half a century. First of all, contents of North Korea’ Revolution Tradition was adjusted itself to it’s environment and changed for Legitimacy strengthening of political power into political history. Accoding to being stabilized of politic and social, contents of Revolution Tradition was extended and changed. And accoding to coming political crisis, contents of Revolution Tradition was opposed to maintain it’s tradition. Also, had been changing contents of Revolution Tradition had an effect on making nation-memorial day of Revolution Tradition. As a results, making Revolution Tradition and nation-memorial day of on process inventing the tradition was reflect of political and social change. And it means that made using of legitimacy strengthening of political power.
