미디어와 소통에 관한 교육철학적 고찰 : 구술성, 문자성, 전자성의 언어를 중심으로

Abstract

The electronic media gives human-being freedom to communicate with various existences over the barrier of physical time and space. In the media ecological point of view, media is not a simple means but the linguistic environment that affects human-beings by inclining to a specific sense. This study reviews the historical process of media that can be divided broadly into oral age, literate age and electronic age, and quests for what effects electronic media has on the human communication. In the primary oral age, persons communicated with others directly through his body especially using his ears and mouth. When they took part in conversation, they could understand context and remember the conversation that they had talked. After the birth of letter, human depended on written letters, not memorizing. People had a leaning toward the sense of sight and gradually alienated from hearing. The invention of printing at 15th century made this incline strength, so acquirement of knowledge became silent and precise action. The electronic age started from radio and television ages, so now it is extending it's influence with the spread of internet and multimedia. It is the optimistic view of modern media theory that human being use the well balanced synesthesia including sight and hearing so we can regain humanity in cyber space. But the critical viewpoint of media should be necessary for the linguistic environment where people realize their humanity truly. The electronic language weakens often the quality and relation of communication causing by multichannel. In addition, the electronic language omits the context and has persons respond instantly so they cannot experience the writer's spirit for understanding. Finally the electronic language doesn't connect with silence so it can't be the speech to discover truth but only wondering as noises. Therefore, direct and face to faced communication should be set at center in education, and the media education provide students the programs that they can realize themselves the main agents of interpreting and recognizing. In addition, it is necessary to draw the language and texts of digital media into the field of national language in school education order to link the student's living and knowledge.
