초등 저학년의 이야기글 쓰기 발달에 대한 종단 분석

초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등 저학년 학생들의 이야기글 쓰기 능력의 종단적 변화를 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 서울과 전주의 초등학생 349명을 대상으로 3년간(2015, 2016, 2017) 데이터를 수집하고 잠재성장모형을 통해 분석하였다. 잠재 성장 모형 분석을 통해 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등 저학년 학생들의 이야기글 쓰기 능력의 궤적은 선형 모형으로 시간이 지남에 따라 쓰기 능력은 증가하는 추세를 보였다. 특히 초기 쓰기에서 2학년 2학기가 일종의 분기점이 된다는 것을 실증적으로 확인하였다. 둘째, 이야기 쓰기 능력 발달에 유의한 영향을 주는 요인을 분석한 결과 초기값에는 읽기 태도를 제외한 모든 요인들이 두루 영향을 주었으나 변화율에 영향을 주는 요인은 없었다. 셋째, 1학년 때에는 쓰기 유창성이 쓰기 능력에 미치는 영향이 컸으나 3학년으로 갈수록 글의 질이 쓰기 능력에 미치는 영향이 크다는 사실을 밝혔다. 본 연구는 종단 설계의 특성상 한계를 가지고 있으나 우리나라 초등학교 저학년 필자들의 이야기글 쓰기 능력 발달을 실증적으로 살펴보았다는데 의의가 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the longitudinal changes in elementary school lower graders' ability to write stories. For this, the study collected data for 3 years(2015-2017) with 349 elementary students in Seoul and Jeonju, and analyzed them through Latent Growth curve Model. The results shown through Latent Growth curve Model are as follows: First, the trace of elementary school lower graders' ability to write stories was a linear model, and their writing ability tended to improve over time, Especially, earlier in writing, it was empirically confirmed that the second term of second-year grade is a kind of turning point. Second, when analyzing the factors significantly affecting the development of the ability to write stories, all factors except for reading attitude affected all the initial values, but no factor affected the rate of change. Third, it turned out that writing fluency greatly affects writing ability in first grade, but according to going up to third grade, writing quality greatly affects writing ability. The present study is limiting by the nature of the longitudinal design, it is significant in that it empirically examined the ability development in writing stories by the writers of our country's elementary school lower graders.
