이 연구의 목적은 현대문학사 교육을 중심으로 문학사 교육을 비판적으로 성찰한 후 문학사 교육의 새로운 방향을 제안하는 것이다. 주목하고자 하는 핵심 키워드는 ‘문학의 역사성’과 ‘독자’이다. 이 연구를 위해 문학사 형성에서 독자의 역할을 강조했던 야우스(H. R. Jauss)의 이론을 참조하였다. 현행 문학사 교육에서는 단편적인 지식 중심의 문학사 교육을 비판하면서 문학사적 맥락을 강조하였으나 여전히 ‘지식 중심’, ‘작품의 이해와 감상’ 중심의 문학사 교육이라는 한계가 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해서는 ‘문학의 역사성’ 그리고 ‘질문과 대답으로 이루어지는 독자 수용의 대화적 성격’을 고려해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 ‘질문과 대답 중심의 독자 수용 문학사 교육’을 제안하였다. 이를 위해서는 독자의 작품 수용사 자료 제공, 독자의 기대 지평을 바탕으로 한 질문의 제기, 작품의 기대 지평 재구성, 독자의 지평과 작품의 지평 간의 대화를 통한 지평의 융합, 독자의 새로운 문학사 형성 참여 등의 교육이 필요하다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to critically reflect on literary history education and propose new directions for literary history education. The key words are 'historicity of literature' and 'reader'. For this study, I refer to the theory of H. R. Jauss, who emphasized the role of the reader in the formation of literary history. Current literature history education has limitations in that it is a literature history education centered on ‘knowledge-oriented’ and ‘understanding and appreciation of works’. To solve this problem, it is necessary to consider ‘historicity of literature' and 'conversational nature of reader reception consisting of questions and answers'. In this study, ‘reader reception literary history education centered on questions and answers' was proposed. This requires the following education. 1) Providing materials on the history of readers' reception of works, 2) Asking questions based on readers' horizons, 3) Reconstruction of works' horizons, 4) Fusion of horizons through dialogues between readers' horizons and works' horizons, and 5) Reader participation in the formation of a new literary history.
