현대의 우리들은 인간을 포함한 일체 존재를 서로 각각으로 분리된 개별적 존재라고 여기며, 각각의 개별자들의 상호관계는 오직 외적인 물리적 인과관계뿐이라고 간주 한다. 따라서 인간의 마음 또한 외적인 물리적 대상세계로부터 자극받아 일어나는 반연심 (攀緣心) 일 뿐이라고 여기며, 그러한 제6의식이 우리 마음활동의 전부라고 생각한 다. 이에 반해 불교는 제6의식보다 더 근원적인 마음을 ‘자성청정심’이나 ‘진여심’ 또는 ‘일심’이나 ‘한마음’으로 논해왔다. 본고에서는 한마음이 과연 어떤 마음인지를 한마음선원 대행스님의 『한마음요전』을 중심으로 살펴보기로 한다. 『한마음요전』은 제 6의식 내지 현재의식보다 더 깊은 심층에서 너와 나의 개체성을 뛰어 넘는 하나의 마음인 ‘한마음’을 발견하며 그것이 바로 우리 모두의 ‘참나’이고 우리 각자를 자신으로 살아가게 하는 ‘주인공’이라고 논한다. 심층에서 발견되는 전체로서의 한마음이 세계와 맺는 관계는 제6의식의 외적 관계와는 다르며, 시공간의 제한성을 넘어선 자유로운 심성소통이다. 본고에서는 『한마음요전』이 제시하는 한마음이 무엇인지, 그 한마 음과 세계는 어떤 관계에 있는지, 나아가 그 한마음을 깨닫고 그 한마음을 실현하는 길은 무엇인지를 밝혀보기로 한다.
Abstract
In contemporary age, we think that all beings including humans have detached individual existence separated from each other, and that the relationship of individuals is only the physical correlation of causality. So we conclude that the human mind is perception-mind rising from the physical stimulus in the world, and conclude that the consciousness (the 6 th knowing) is the only activities of the human mind. But Buddhism has come to discuss the deeper mind than consciousness, and call it ‘puremind’, ‘true-mind’ or ‘One-mind’. In this paper I will discuss what the One-mind is on the ground of the text One-mind-Book by Seon Master Daehaeng. She explained that the mind which is deeper than consciouness is not an individually detached soul, but One-mind in connection and resonance with each other in deep dimension. This deep-mind is the true mind of all living beings, she calls it ‘Juingong’, which lead the life. I will explore what One-mind means, which relationship the Ond-mind has to the world, and how we let our Onemind come true in this world.
