{독립신문} 수록 이광수의 시 연구

본고에서는 상해 임시정부의 기관지인 『독립신문』에 실려 있는 춘원 이광수의 시들을 검토하고자 한다. 그는 일본에서 2.8독립선언서를 작성한 직후 상해로 건너가 임시정부 수립에 기여했고 『독립신문』 사장 겸 주필로서 사설과 논설 등 많은 글을 발표했다. 하지만 그것은 망명 지식인으로서의 공적인 발언이 중심을 이루고 있는 것이었고, 특히 임정과 함께 흥사단을 이끌고 있었던 도산 안창호의 이념을 대변한 것이어서 그 자신의 생각이나 심정을 살피기에는 부족함이 있다. 그런데 그는 많지는 않지만 동일한 지면에 가끔 시를 발표하고 있었는데 여기에는 사설이나 논설에서의 이성적 논리와는 다른 그의 인간적인 면모와 시인으로서의 재능이 잘 드러나 있어서 주목된다. 『독립신문』에 발표된 이광수의 시를 통해, 이국 땅에서 망명정부의 일원으로 격무에 시달리면서도 고통받는 동포들을 생각하면 쉴 수가 없었던 독립운동가로서의 일면을 살펴볼 수 있고, 일제로부터 살륙당하고 있는 동포들의 소식을 누구보다도 많이 접하고 있었던 지식인의 슬픔과 분노, 무력감 등의 격정과 절망을 볼 수도 있으며, 끝으로 그 절망 속에서 신에게 구원을 간구하는 기도를 드리면서 새로운 길을 모색하고 있었던, 귀국 직전까지의 춘원 이광수의 모습을 확인할 수 있었다.
Abstract
In this paper, I would like to review the poems of Chunwon Lee Kwang-soo in the 『Independent Newspaper』, an organ of the Shanghai Provisional Government. He published many articles, including editorials, as president and lead author of the 『Independent Newspaper』. By the way, although there are not many, he occasionally published poems on the same page, which is noteworthy because his human aspect and talent as a poet are well revealed, which is different from the rational logic in editorials. Through Lee Kwang-soo's poem published in the 『Independent Newspaper』, we could look at his side as an independence activist. And through his poetry, I could see the sadness, anger, and despair of intellectuals. Finally, I was able to confirm the appearance of Chunwon Lee Kwang-soo, who was seeking a new path by praying to God for salvation even in despair until just before returning home.
