Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the effects of the subjective happiness level of Korean adolescents on physical activity, sadness&despair, and perceived stress. The research method was a secondary analysis study using the 2023 (19th) Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey(KYRBS) Online Survey data. The subjects of the study were physical activity, sadness&despair experience, and perceived stress as variables, and the significance was confirmed using the SPSS program. The results of the study showed that in subjective happiness perception, ‘unhappiness’ had the effect of reducing the number of days of physical activity. In subjective happiness perception, those who experienced sadness&despair responded that they were ‘unhappiness’ more often. The number of days of physical activity(β=-.037) and the number of days of high-intensity physical activity(β=-.077) had a negative(-) effect on subjective happiness, and the experience of sadness & despair(β =.131) and the experience of loneliness(β=.202) had a positive(+) effect (p<.001). The usual stress perception(β=-.327) had a negative(-) effect (p<.001). In other words, sadness&despair and loneliness affect subjective happiness, and stress perception was shown to be an important factor that negatively affects subjective happiness. In the future, based on this study, we plan to use it as basic data to seek appropriate mental health solutions to promote timely diagnosis and treatment of mental health problems. In addition, we plan to establish a plan to comprehensively review effective management strategies that take into account the characteristics of adolescents.
