Abstract
The Study of Seunggal-tang Gamibang on the Anti-allergy Effects Ju Bong Hyun, Lyu Sun Ae, Ko Woo Shin*, Kim Own Il**, Lee Seung Yeon*** Dept. of Pediatrics, College of Oriental Medicine, Dong-Eui Univ. *Dept. of Oriental Medical Ophthalmology & Otolaryngology & Dermatology, College of Oriental Medicine, Dong-Eui Univ. **Dept. of Internal Medicine, College of Oriental Medicine, Dong-Eui Univ. ***Dept. of Pediatrics, College of Oriental Medicine, Dong-Eui Univ.Clinical Research Center of Oriental Medicine, Dong-Eui Univ. Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate effects of Seunggal-tang gamibang (SGT) on the PMA plus A23187-induced RBL-2H3 cells. Methods The effect of SGT on β-hexosamonidase release, passive cutaneous anaphylaxis, TNF-α production and IL-4 secretion was studied. Results SGT inhibited the release of β-hexosamonidase in RBL-2H3, without affecting cell viability. The passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA) was inhibited by the SGT. Moreover SGT also reduced production of TNF-α and secretion of IL-4 in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusions SGT has anti-allergy effects on the RBL-2H3 cells.
