한국의 갈등관련 연구경향 분석: 사회과학분야의 주요 학술지 수록 연구를 중심으로

본 연구는 사회과학분야를 중심으로 기존의 한국사회 갈등연구에 관한 연구경향 분석을 통해 갈등연구의 특성 및 변화를 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 거시적 차원의 주제별 분석과 주제별 분석에서 활용한 주제들을 시기별로 구분한 교차분석, 갈등연구의 주요 키워드와 시기별 변화추이 파악을 위한 네트워크 텍스트 분석방법을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 국내 갈등연구는 이론의 검증/정립/적용의 목적을 가진 연구가 주를 이룬 것으로 나타났다. 연구방법에 있어서는 사례연구가 많고, 설문조사나 통계자료 등의 2차 자료를 활용한 계량적 연구도 점차 활발해지고 있는 추세를 보였다. 또한 최근 들어 종합적 관점에서 갈등에 접근하는 연구가 많아지면서 갈등연구의 범위가 넓어짐을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 기존 갈등연구가 처방적 학문으로서의 역할을 적절히 수행했는지를 검토하고, 갈등연구가 보완․지향해야 할 사항을 중심으로 향후 과제를 제시하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics and changes of conflict studies through analyzing trends in research on Korean social conflicts, focusing on the social sciences. Specific research objectives and research methods are as follows. First, This paper analyzed the changes in research trends by the researchers and research contents. Second, we conducted a cross-sectional analysis of the changes in research topics with the researchers. Third, the network text analysis method was used to identify the main key words of conflict studies and how they changed over time. The main results of the study are as follows. First, conflict studies in Korea can be regarded as the main focus of research with the purpose of verifying/establishing/ applying the theory. This means that many studies are analyzing the causes of conflict and finding solutions based on theoretical frame or model. Second, the existing research on conflicts is based on case studies. Quantitative research using secondary data such as questionnaires and statistical data is also becoming more actively conducted in these days. Third, it can be seen that the research trends are changing from the research centering on improvement of the institutional system to the specific case-based research and the comprehensive analysis of the conflict cases. This change in tendency can be confirmed by the change of key words suggested by researchers. Based on the analysis of conflict research trends, the following suggestions are as follow. First, it suggests that existing studies should be studied from a more comprehensive point of view with the practical viewpoint. Second, most of the researchers belong to the university, and they prefer the independent research rather than the collaborative one. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research through exchange of academic and practical perspectives among various researchers. Third, studies using limited research methodology have been conducted so far. In order to achieve more active research, various methodologies are needed.
