Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out an relationship of lower extremity factors, the record for the 200 meters cycling and Wingate anaerobic power in two different cyclist: racing and competitive. Fifteen racing cyclists (height:175.47(4.61)㎝, weight:77.27(6.42)kg, age:29.53(3.96) as mean(SD)) and twenty-three competitive cyclists(height:174.91(5.90)㎝, weight:75.17(8.50)kg, age:24.30(1.89) as mean (SD)) from racing cyclist contest 2007 participated in this study. Their height, weight and lower extremity factors were measured twice previously. For the record for the 200 meters cycling and Wingate anaerobic power test were measured twice on separate days with a rest period of 3days between these test days. There was no significant difference on the record for the 200 meters cycling and lower extremity factors. However, peak power and fatigue index showed significant difference for both groups. Peak power was strongly associated with mid-thigh girth, mean power was thigh girth, mid-thigh girth and tibiale laterale height. The record for the 200 meters cycling was evidenced for lower extremity factors Hierarchical regression(p<.05): weight, front thigh skinfold site, thigh girth, trochanterion-tibiale height. Pearson's correlations revealed the significant correlations between the the record for the 200 meters cycling and thigh girth, mid-thigh girth on racing cyclist group. Therefore, based on this study, the factors of thigh girth, mid-thigh girth and trochanterion - tibiale height were the most effected measurements on the record for the 200 meters cycling and wingate anaerobic power in the racing group. In case of unskilled beginners who had low literacy ability as a point of racing can become elite players if they should do training applied its problem.
