스포츠 수행 예측을 위한 자기결정성 이론의 적용: 목표와 경기력의 다집단 경로 차이

초록

이 연구는 운동선수들의 수행 예측을 위한 자기결정성 이론의 적용 가능성을 타진하고자 하였다. 구체적으로 365명의 개인 및 팀 종목 운동선수들을 표집하여 설정된 연구 모형의 구조적 관계를 확인한 후 시합에 대한 기대된 목표를 달성한 집단과 달성하지 못한 집단, 시합결과에 따른 우수선수와 비 우수 선수의 연구 모형의 경로를 알아보았다. 분석결과 시합 목표를 달성한 집단은 인과지향성과 심리적 욕구 만족을 거쳐 수행을 안정적으로 예측하였으나, 목표 실패 집단은 수행을 예측하지 못했다. 또한 우수선수는 인과지향성을 통해 자기 조절적 동기를 거쳐 수행을 예측한 반면, 비 우수 선수는 심리적 욕구 만족 수준에 의해 수행이 예측되는 차이를 확인하였다. 따라서 이러한 결과를 자기결정성 이론과 스포츠 현장 적용적인 측면에서 논의하였다.

Abstract

This study was to explore possibility of applying self-determination motivation theory for anticipating sport performance. Specifically, 365 athletes in individual and team sport responded and completed survey, and the data were analyzed to examine structural relationship of research model regarding to goal achievement and performance. The results were as follows: Firstly, the performance of group, who achieved their goals, was anticipated through directional causality and psychological needs, but performance of the other group, who did not achieved their goals, was not anticipated. Secondly, elite athletes' performance was anticipated through directional causality and self-regulatory motivation. However, non-elite athletes' performance was anticipated through satisfaction level of psychological needs. Therefore, these results demonstrated that self-determination theory will be useful for field application for performance enhancement.
