Abstract

The aim of this study was to determined the effects of aerobic and anaerobic combined exercise training on body compositions, blood lipids and acute inflammatory markers in current smoking and never smoking men. Who participated in this study was thirty four males. Subjects aged 20-40 years who smoke 15-20 or more cigarettes/day and for at least 3 years or more than 3 years. Also, subjects were divided into two groups (non-smoking+exercise and smoking+exercise group). All Subjects were do not any kind of regularly physical exercise training. All subjects participated in a supervised aerobic and anaerobic complex exercise training program during 8 weeks. The program consist of treadmill running and weight training for 8sites. Maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) testing and 1 RM test were assessed at baseline and after 8 weeks of combined exercise training. Results: The combined exercise training program resulted in significant improvement in VO2max, and body fat was decreased significantly after exercise training. HDL-cholesterol level was increased significantly, and TC, LDL -cholesterol, TG levels diminished after exercise training. Moreover, blood C-reactive protein and Fibrinogen levels decreased significantly in two groups after 8 weeks. Otherwise, there was a significant differences on adiponectin level between groups after combined exercise training during 8 weeks.
