Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to study the characteristic of the discussion on the popularization of proletarian poetry in late 1920's. First, the principle was established by the critic group of KAPF that should be make the work easy for true popularization of proletarian art. After, Kim Gi Jin asserted that realize popularization to create short epic poem which combine an event and an emotion. But at once he comprehended a limit of popularization with short epic poem. So he intended to solve problem with folk song form. He developed the discussion on the popularization in order to avoid the pressure of inspection. The younger group of KAPF was opposed in his popularization theory. They asserted that proletarian artist must see a thing and write a poem with proletarian revolutionist. And they demanded that the artist become proletarian revolutionist, so strengthen an organization and tie the relationship which is closed with the populace. The critic group of KAPF must consider the work and an organization together for true popularization of proletarian poetry. But They failed it because of the inside discord and the outside pressure.
