이 논문은 원작소설에의 충실도가 다른 각색영화 시청이 중학생 독자의 텍스트이해에 어떤 영향을 주는지와 다매체 경험에 대한 독자의 인식이 어떠한지 알아보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이 목적을 달성하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 연구내용을 설정 하였다. 첫째, 각색영화의 개념과 특징을 정리하고 각색영화의 사례를 분석한다. 둘째, 택스트 이해의 과정과 상호텍스트성 이론의 개념을 정리하여 독자의 각색영화의 시청과 원작소설에 대한 택스트 이해과정이 갖는 의의를 논의한다. 셋째, 각색영화 시청 경험이 중학생 독자의 소설 텍스트 회상과 이해에 어떤영향을 주는지를 실험을 통해 검증한다. 이상의 방법과 절차로 실시한 연구를 통해 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 원작에의 충실도가 높은 각색영화와 충실도가 낮은 각색영화 두 작품 모두 영화로 재매개 되는 과정에서 변용이 일어나는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다. 충실도가 높은 영화는 매체 변환으로 인한 변용이 일어났지만 이야기를 구성하는인물, 사건, 공간은 원작소설을 그대로 재현하였기 때문에 주제 변용은 일어나지 않았다. 충실도가 낮은 영화는 감독의 의도에 따라 인물, 사건, 공간의 변용이 일어났으며 이러한 변용은 이야기의 주제에도 영향을 미쳤음을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 텍스트 이해의 과정과 상호텍스트성 이론을 정리한 결과 각색영화는 독자의 텍스트 이해에 상호텍스트성의 기제로 작용하여 독자의 텍스트 이해에 영향을미친다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, 연구 결과를 통해 각색영화의 충실도에 따라 독자가 원작소설을 회상하고,이해하고, 적용시키는데 영향을 주는 요인이 될 가능성이 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 각색영화를 이용한 매체교육과 문학교육의 장에서 그 목적에 따라 텍스트를 선정함에 있어 각색영화의 충실도는 고려해야할 사항임을 시사한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of watchingdramatized movies different from fidelity in the original novel on themiddle school student reader’s text understanding watcher’srecognition of multi-media experience. In order to achieve this purpose, this study established belowresearch contents. First, the notion and characteristics of dramatized movies arearranged and the cases of the dramatized movies are analyzed. Second, the course of text understanding and the notion of theintertextuality theory were arranged to discuss the significance ofreader’s watching of dramatized movies and the text understandingcourse of the original novel. Third, it verified through an experiment how the experience of dramatized movie watching influences the middle school studentreaders’ recollection and understanding of the novel text and therecognition of multi-media experience. Through the researcher performed with the above methods andprocedures, below findings could be gained. First, it could confirm that there were appearance changes in thecourses of remediation from both the dramatized movies with highfidelity and those with low fidelity. The movie with high fidelityshowed appearance changes due to media change but because itreemerges characters, events and space, which compose of the storyof the original movie, it has no change in subject. The movie withlow fidelity had appearance changes in characters, events and spaceaccording to director’s intention and these appearance changes wereconfirmed to influence the subject of the story. Second, as a result of the arrangement of the text understandingcourse and the intertextuality theory, it was found that the dramatizedmovie works as a mechanism of intertextuality to the reader’s textunderstanding to influence the reader’s text understanding. Third, it confirmed the possibility that the fidelity of eachdramatized movie becomes the factor to influence the reader’srecollection, understanding and application of the original novel. These results suggest that the fidelity of the dramatized movieshould be considered to select texts according to its purpose in themedia education and literature education using the dramatized movie.
