이 논문은 최근 교육과정에서 강조되고 있는 창의성 교육과 관련하여 인문학교육의 역할을 해명하고자 하였다. 일반적으로 창의성 교육은 대단히 광범위하고모호한 목표를 갖고 있다. 따라서 오늘날의 교육에서 창의성 요구되는 문제 상황을 고려할 때, 창의성 교육의 목표는 창의적 문제해결력을 신장시키는 일에 초점이 맞추어져야 한다. 이 경우의 창의성은 기존의 문제해결 알고리즘과는 다른 새로운 문제해결 방법을 찾아내는 데 있다. 이렇게 창의적 문제해결력의 신장이 주요한 교육라면, 그것은 단지 인지적인 요소만이 아니라 윤리성도 고려해야 한다. 복잡한 사회에서 발생하는 다양한 문제들을 해결하는 일은 예외 없이 사회적 가치들과 연루되어 있기 때문이다. 창의적 문제해결 교육에서 인문교육은 학습자에게 이러한 가치의 문제를 교육할 수 있는 효과적인 방법인 동시에 인지적 측면에서도 발견적 사유 역량을 신장시키는 데 효과적이다.
Abstract
In this paper, I have tried to clarify of a role of liberal arts education in the creativity education. In general, the creativity education is too broad, and has an ambiguous goal. If we consider the reason, why the creativity is important in general education, we have to focus the goal of the education on the creative problem-solving. The creativity in this case means to find the new solution which is different to old algorithms for problem-solving. Futhermore, the problem-solving in our complex society is to be sound from a ethical point of view. Because a certain problem-solving is apt to cause another problems, so it is always inseparable from social values. In this circumstance, the liberal arts education is effective in two points: the education of social value, and the heuristic skills for creative problem-solving.
