安廓이 전개한 愛國啓蒙運動은 뚜렷한 哲學的 背景을 지니고 있다. 安廓의 철학적 배경은 傳統思想과 西歐 近代思想이다. 그는 조선시대의 지배적 전통사상이었던 儒學을 否定的으로 批判하였으나, 傳統은 自主的 立場에서 繼承하며 조선을 근대적으로 혁신하려 하였다. 安廓의 傳統 繼承論이나 革新論 모두 民衆指向的이며 동시에 民族主義的 傾向이 강하였음을 알 수 있다. 安廓은 民族 主體意識을 기반으로 西歐 近代思想을 수용한 近代的 新知識人이라고 할 수 있다. 安廓의 哲學思想的 특징들은 梁啓超와 같은 20세기 초 동아시아의 진보적 지식인들이나 서구 근대사상의 보편적 세계관의 영향권 아래에 머물렀다고 할 수 있다. 그러나 韓國思想의 흐름이라는 특수한 상황을 염두에 놓고 생각할 때, 安廓의 哲學思想이 이룩한 성과들은 愛國啓蒙 思想이라는 설명을 넘어서 傳統的 思惟에서 近代的 思惟로의 轉換을 보여주었다고 평가할 수 있다.
Abstract
The Enlightenment in An Hwak's Philosophy Park, Hong-sik The movement of patriotic enlightenment unfolded by An-hwak (Jasan, 1886～1946) has a clear philosophical background. An-hwak's philosophical backgrounds were traditional ideas and Western modern ideas.Even though An-hwak criticized Confucianism which was dominant traditional ideas of the Cho-seon Period, he tried to inherit tradition in an independent position and reform Cho-seon modernly. It is possible to know that both An-hwak's theory of tradition inheritance and theory of reform have a strong trend in public directivity and nationalism.An-hwak can be regarded as a man of advanced knowledge who accommodated Western modern ideas based on national identity.An-hwak's philosophical ideas' characteristics can be said that they were under influence of 20th century's advanced intellectuals like Liang Ch'i-ch'ao'(1873~1929) and Western modern ideas' universal outlook on the world.However when we keep this particular situation, the current of Korean thought, in our mind the achievements that An Hwak's philosophical ideas accomplished can be evaluated that they were more than just movement of patriotic enlightenment. They presented the conversion from traditional speculation to modern speculation.
