小說敎育의 한 可能性－生態小說을 중심으로－

Abstract

As one of the reading methods in novel education, literary works, which embody ecological perception, were subjected for this study. An appropriate text for novel education should not only contribute to the subject formation for learners, but also elevate socio-ethical aspects for them. Therefore following texts were selected for this study. Eco-feminism can be found in Come to the Indian Millet Field (Susubat-euro Oseyo) by Gong, Seon-ok and Fruit of My Woman by Han, Gang. In depth ecology can be found in Deep River by Jeong, Chan, and socio-ecology can be found in River Dong Runs with Stock Shoal (Hwangsae-yeoul) by Choe, Seong-gak. The reason why the reading procedure was classified into ‘discovery reading’ and ‘critical reading’ was that a purpose consciousness of ecological novels was taken into consideration. If a purpose conscious- ness is too strong, aesthetic aspects of a novel can be overlooked. Subsequently it can become a shortcoming of the novel. Here, how the shortcoming is being overcome was the focus of this study. It is seen that subject matters of novels were implied by the combination of an ecological imagination with a mysticism.
