Abstract
This study surveyed 344 college students in Korea, China and Japan regarding both their nomination of most creative people and their perception of nominated people’s creative traits. The purpose of this study is to examine the differences of implicit knowledge of creative personality of creative people in three East-Asian countries (Korea, China, Japan) which were considered to share the same cultural background by Westerners. The results of this study were as follows : First, scientists were nominated by Koreans as being the most creative person. Politicians ranked first in China and artists ranked first in Japan. Second, total scores and indicative scores of ACL-CPS were highest in Japan. There were no differences among occupational groups. Third, contra-indicative scores were highest in China and politicians among occupational groups.. Interestingly, contra-indicative scores of person who were perceived as the most creative were highest in each country. Implications and suggestions for the study were added.
