장애유아의 감각통합 기능 특성 분석

본 연구는 장애유아의 감각통합 기능에 대한 특성을 비교․분석함으로써 감각에 어려움을 겪고 있는 장애유아에게 적절한 조기중재 프로그램을 계획하고 시행하는데 도움을 주고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 ‘장애인 등에 대한 특수교육법 시행령’에서 지정하는 특수교육대상자 선정기준에 부합되는 유아 중 정신지체, 자폐성 장애, 뇌성마비, 주의력결핍과잉행동장애로 진단받은 4~6세 유아의 주양육자 및 교사(N=329)와 장애로 진단받거나 장애 관련 치료경험이 없는 4~6세 일반유아의 주양육자 및 교사(N=542)를 대상으로 ‘감각통합장애 유아 조기 선별척도’를 통해 조사한 결과 다음과 같은 주된 결론을 얻었다. 먼저 일반유아와 장애유아 중 일반유아는 감각통합 기능이 ‘정상’에 속한 반면, 장애유아는 ‘위험’에 속하는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 장애유아는 하위영역 중 ‘고유-전정감각’과 ‘청각-시각’에서의 감각통합 기능이 다소 낮았다. 장애유형별로는 정신지체와 자폐성 장애유아의 경우 ‘청각-시각’ 영역이, 뇌성마비유아는 ‘고유-전정감각’ 영역이, ADHD유아는 ‘청각-시각’, ‘회전-전정감각’ 영역에서의 감각통합 기능이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 장애유아 간에도 장애유형별로 상이한 감각통합 처리 패턴을 보인다는 것을 알 수 있는 것으로 장애유형에 따른 감각통합 프로그램을 개발하여 실시한다면 기존에 실시되었던 프로그램보다 더 나은 중재 효과를 볼 수 있을 것이라 생각된다. 둘째, 장애유형과 유아의 성, 연령에 따른 감각통합 기능 특성에서는 성, 연령, 장애유형 각각에 따른 차이가 나타났는데, 즉 성에 있어서는 여아가 ‘고유-전정감각’ 및 ‘청각-시각’에서, 연령별로는 4세보다 6세가 ‘청각-시각’에서 감각통합 기능이 다소 낮은 것으로 나타났으며, 장애유형별로는 감각 민감성을 제외한 전 영역에서 장애유형별 차이를 보였다. 또한 성과 장애유형에 따라서는 자폐성 장애와 ADHD 여아가 남아보다 ‘고유-전정감각’에서, 연령과 장애유형에 따라서는 ‘청각-시각’ 영역에서 전 장애유형의 4세보다 5세와 6세 유아의 감각통합 기능이 보다 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 장애유형과 성, 연령에 따른 감각통합 기능이 서로 차이가 있음을 나타내는 것으로 특히 연령대별 감각통합 능력 비교를 통해 장애유형과 연령에 따른 감각통합 프로그램 개발의 필요성을 시사하는 것이라 할 수 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze on characteristics to sensory integration function of infant with disability. There are implications for implementing educational program into infants with sensory integration deficiency through this study. The subjects of this study were 329 parents and teachers of 4-6 ages infants with disability(Mental Retardation, Autism, Cerebral Paralysis, Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disability) and 542 parents and teachers of 4-6 infants without disabilities. It is examined to results according to t-test, ANOVA and MANOVA methods. The results are as follows. First, the groups were showed that Infants without disability were in one group as normal and the other group as critical. Sensory integration function based on types of disability was analyzed. Second, each types of disabilities indicate that infants with mental retardation or autism have a lower sense of hearing and sight. And infants with cerebral paralysis have a lower “proprioception-vestibular”. Infants with ADHD have a lower sense of “auditory-visual” and “revolution-vestibular” a those of normal capacity. Third, in these types of disability and variable factors, a significant distinction was shown. Sensory integrations between sex and gender was showed meaningful difference. Especially, girls are lower in “proprioception-vestibular” and “auditory-visual”. And that infants of age 6 have lower “auditory-visual” than those of age 4. Also, girls with autism and ADHD have significantly lower “proprioception-vestibular”, children of age 5 to 6 have lower “auditory-visual” than those age of 4.
