Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate research trend and core components of assistive technology for included students with disabilities by reviewing domestic and foreign literature published from 1991 to 2012. Interventions regarding AT for students with disabilities in inclusion settings were categorized into 2 types: a) intervention utilizing mainly AT in inclusion settings, b) AT based-intervention in inclusion settings. Also, dependent variables and types of AT were analyzed. Based on the findings of this study, implications for application of and future research on AT for included students with disabilities are provided around the following themes : a) enhancing research on AT for included students with disabilities both quantitatively and qualitatively, b) broaden the scope of AT research to include students with more various disability, and to reflect the current technical development, and c) establishing the basic infrastructures for AT support delivery system
