Abstract

We started this study in order to address school violence which is one of the four evil practices that must be removed for social security. This study views the offender's behavior and situations. A complete accounting of the whole juvenile inmate system was carried out in order to facilitate this study, and we added questionnaires for the inmates themselves. According to the research, One hundred twenty juvenile inmates were incarcerated directly due to school violence; furthermore, Most of the respondents were incarcerated indirectly due to school related violence, as well This kind of study reminds us of the importance of active prevention in regards to school violence and that prevention is necessary as a correctional procedure. Ironically, one-fifth of juvenile inmates have experienced school violence. The ratio was the highest, when they were middle school students. The types of charges varied such as blackmailing, abusive language, and harassment. Most of the cases were not reported to the police, contrary to our expectations. The victim usually tries to endure it by themselves because they fear revenge. Although the responses of the offenders showed similar results, there were some noticeable points of difference in their responses when comparing face to face questions and computer based questions about sexual harassment According to records of their crimes, significant numbers of inmates crimes involved sexual harassment, but when they were asked, they tried to avoid answering the question. The corrections procedure is the last step in the criminal justice system; therefore, active intervention on behalf of the juvenile inmate is necessary.
