출소준비 수형자의 가정실태와 가족재결합관련요인: 생태체계이론의 적용

이 연구는 수형자들의 출소 후 가정복원에 따른 환경을 예측하는데 목적을 두고, 출소준비 수형자들의 가정실태 및 가족재결합 관련요인을 분석하고 가족재결합 지원방안을 생태체계관점에서 제안하였다. 연구를 위해 전국 10개 교도소에서 출소가임박한 수형자 254명으로부터 설문조사를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 출소 후 복귀하게 될 가정환경은 상당수가 부부관계는 해체되었고, 가족과 연계상태도 원만하지 못하였으며, 수형자 열 명 중 네 명 정도는 미성년자녀와의 재결합을준비해야 하는 상황이었다. 경제적으로는 국민기초생활 수급률이 높고 저소득 상태가 심각하였으며, 다수가 출소 후 가족의 생계를 책임져야 하지만 직업전망은 불투명하였다. 한편, 출소 후 가족재결합은 수형자요인보다는 환경요인들의 영향력이 더큰 것으로 나타났다. 수형자요인으로는 학력이 높을수록, 교정시설에 수용된 횟수가적을수록 가족재결합이 긍정적이었다. 환경요인으로는 가정의 소득이 많을수록, 출소 후 안정적인 고용을 예측하고 있는 경우가 불안정고용을 예측하고 있는 경우에비해, 가족과 연계가 잘된 경우가 그렇지 않은 경우보다, 그리고 부부관계가 유지되고 있는 수형자가 부부관계가 해체된 수형자에 비해 출소 후 가족재결합이 긍정적으로 예측되었다. 마지막으로 생태체계이론에 입각하여 출소준비 수형자, 미시체계, 중간체계, 외부체계로 구분하여 출소 후 가족재결합 지원방안을 논의하였다.
Abstract
This study aimed to forecast the environment required for Family restoration after prisoners return home. The study examined family realities and factors of family reunion to provide a support plan in an ecological system theory. Dataset of 254 prisoners to be released within a month from 10 prisons nationwide was collected. A lot of the prisoners’ marriage had dissolved, family ties had been severed, with four out of 10 prisoner having underage children. The family was financially poor, and while a lot of the prisoners were expected to support their families after release, prospects for employment were low. The probability of a family’s reunion after a prisoner returns home was influenced more on environmental factors rather on the prisoners themselves. Prisoner's factors influencing family reunions showed that when the prisoner’s education levels were high and when their number of incarceration was low, the possibility of a family’s reunion increased. Environmental factors showed that when a family’s income was high and when the expected income after the prisoner’s release was stable, the possibility of family reunion grew. Also, when family ties and marital relationships were maintained, family reunions showed more positive outcomes. Finally, this paper suggested ways to support family reunions, based on the Ecological Systems Theory such as prisoner factors, microsystem, mesosystem, and exosystem level.
