대학생의 자살생각 경로 분석: 통합적 동기-의지 모형을 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 우리나라 대학생을 대상으로 통합적 동기-의지 모형(Integrated Motivational - Volitional Model[IMV 모형])을 활용하여 배경요인들이 패배감과 속박감을 통해 자살생각으로 가는 경로를 실증적으로 검증하고자 실시되었다. 이를 위하여 대학생 450명을 대상으로 우울경험질문지, 대학생용 생활스트레스척도(당면과제스트레스, 대인관계스트레스), 패배감척도, 속박감척도, 자살생각척도를 사용하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 국내 대학생의 자살에서 IMV 모형의 핵심경로가 부분적으로 적용 가능한 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 우울취약성과 대인관계스트레스가 속박감을 매개로 자살생각에 이르는 경로와 우울취약성과 당면과제스트레스가 패배감, 속박감을 이중 매개로 자살생각에 이르는 경로가 유의하게 나타났다. 또한 우울취약성과 대인관계스트레스는 자살생각에 직접적으로 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 대학생의 정신건강에 대한 이해와 이를 통해 자살을 예방할 수 있는 서비스의 필요성을 논의하였다. 또한 본 연구의 제한점과 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the applicability of Integrated Motivational - Volitional (IMV) Model suggested by O' Connor to Korean university students. For this, the questionnaires were administered to 450 college students in Daegu metropolitan area and data on depression, life stress (task stress, interpersonal stress), defeat, and entrapment were gathered. The collected data were analyzed using the structural equation model through SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 20.0 programs. The main results of the study were as follows. First, defeat influenced the suicidal ideation through entrapment. Second, depressive vulnerability had a direct relationship on suicidal ideation, and influenced suicidal ideation through entrapment. Third, task-related stress affected Suicidal ideation through sense of defeat and entrapment. Interpersonal stress effected directly on suicidal ideation. In conclusion, the results of this study suggested that the Integrated Motivational - Volitional(IMV) model suggested by O' Connor in general could be applicable to Korean college students. Finally, the implications for both research and practice are discussed.
