자기가치감 수반성(우월성, 타인승인)과 우울과의 관계에서 인지적 유연성의 조절효과

본 연구는 자기가치감 수반성의 우월성과 타인승인이 우울과 어떠한 관련성이 있는가를 확인하고 이 과정에서 인지적 유연성이 조절효과를 나타내는지에 대해 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 수도권과 비수도권 소재 대학의 학생 479명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였고, 불성실한 응답을 한 19명을 제외하여 총460명의 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과 자기가치감 수반성의 우월성은 우울과 정적인 상관을 보였고 자기가치감 수반성의 타인승인도 우울과 정적인 상관을 보이는 나타났다. 그리고 자기가치감 수반성의 우월성이 우울에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 자기가치감 수반성과 인지적 유연성의 상호작용 효과는 유의하지 않았다. 반면, 자기가치감 수반성의 타인승인은 우울에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 인지적 유연성이 조절효과를 나타내는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 타인승인에 기반한 자기가치감이 높을지라도 인지적 유연성이 높으면 우울을 완화할 수 있음을 보여주는 결과이다. 자기가치감이 타인의 승인을 기반으로 한 것일지라도 상황과 사건을 스스로 통제할 수 있다고 조력한다면 우울을 낮춤으로써 궁극적으로는 적응적인 생활을 영위하는데 유익할 것이다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 자기가치감 수반성의 우월성과 타인승인이 우울에 미치는 과정을 정교하게 이해하고, 학교와 청소년 상담복지기관 같은 임상장면에서에서 우울을 호소하는 대상자들을 조력할 수 있는 실천적 개입으로서 인지적 유연성의 중요성과 실천 방안을 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate the relations between contingencies of self-worth(superiority and others’ approval), depression and the moderating role of cognitive flexibility in these relations. For this study, 460 college students were recruited. Results were as follows. First, contingencies of self-worth (superiority and other's approval) was positively associated with depression. Second, contingencies of self- worth(superior) was not statistically significant moderated to depression. Third, cognitive flexibility was moderated the relation of contingencies of self-worth(others' approval) with depression. Even though contingencies of self-worth(other's approval) was high, if cognitive flexibility was higher, depression can be relieved. Finally, meaning and limitation of this research and implication to counseling strategies and intervention were discussed in detail.
