자아존중감과 진로장벽의 자기회귀 교차지연 효과 분석 연구

진로 탐색과 교육을 위한 중요한 청소년기의 자아존중감과 진로와 관련된 다양한 변인들 간의 인과관계를 밝히는 연구들이 있어왔다. 이러한 연구들은 대부분 동일시점의 변인을 다루고 있어 인과 관계의 방향성을 결정하는데 이론적으로나 통계적으로 많은 한계점을 가지고 있었다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 한계점을 극복하기 위하여, 한국청소년개발연구원에서 수행한 한국청소년패널조사(KYPS)의 중2 패널 자료 중 1차, 3차, 5차년도의 종단 자료를 활용하여 성장하는 청소년의 자아존중감과 진로장벽 사이의 종단적 상호관계를 자기회귀교차지연모델(autoregressive crosslagged model)을 통해 알아보고자 하였다. 분석결과에 따르면, (a) 청소년의 자아존중감은 이후 시점의 자아존중감을 통계적으로 유의하게 예측하였다. (b) 진로장벽은 이후 시점의 진로장벽을 통계적으로 유의하게 예측하였다. (c) 자아존중감은 이후 시점의 교차 지연된 진로장벽을 통계적으로 유의하게 예측하였다. 하지만, (d) 진로장벽은 이후 시점의 교차 지연된 자아효능감은 예측하지 못하는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to verify the causal relationship between self-esteem and career barrier among adolescents. The 5-year longitudinal data (Korea Youth Panel Survey, KYPS) was collected from 2nd grade middle school students by National Youth Policy Institute Korea. The 1st, 3rd, and 5th wave annual data were used for this analysis. Using autoregressive crosslagged modeling, the results concluded (a) self-esteem continued from middle school 2nd grade to high school 3rd grade in significant stability. (b) The career barrier continued this period in significant stability. (c) Previous self-esteem had significant negative effect on the later career barrier, but (d) the previous career barrier had no significant effect on later self-esteem.
