Abstract
This study was conducted to identify the key factors of social entrepreneurship, and develop and validate a scale measuring social entrepreneurship. Extensive literature review was conducted in order to identify sub-domains of social entrepreneurship. The three main factors of social entrepreneurship was compassion, innovation, and practicality. The expert group in the field of education and social enterprise approved the content validity of the test items. Item validity and reliability were examined through the preliminary test, and the final version of the test with 27 items was built. 369 social entrepreneurs participated in this study. The validity of social entrepreneurship scale was examined through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis using structural equation model, and the reliability was tested through Cronbach's coefficient alpha. Confirmatory factor analysis result using structural equation model suggested that some of the fit indices(CFI=.876, TLI=.850, RMSEA=.071) supported that empirical data collected for this study showed very good fit to the model of social entrepreneurship. The reliability using Cronbach's coefficient alpha was also found to be acceptable(α=.939). Findings were discussed in terms of implications on selecting and developing social entrepreneurs.
